Dear colleagues, greetings to you. I hope you are doing well this morning and I am delighted to report on our progress, actions, and transformations we’ve achieved so far in relation to the attainment of the Sea of Wine project.
Within the reporting period of the Project lots of administrative procedures had to be implemented in order to ensure the successful beginning of the project. Manuals of the Project and the eMS are studied, data and contact details are updated, procurement procedures are launched, project team is appointed. Within this period ONAFT has attended all weekly Kick-off meetings organized by ICARE. The project registration according to the national legislation was done.
The implementation of the Project has started by assessing and evaluating the background and current situation of on activities of local and regional tourism development, social entrepreneurship, and network creation in the Black Sea region. the Report is completed by ONAFT team in time. The ONAFT Database specialist is working to fill in an Excel format file for the development of country-level databases of the wine tourism sector in Ukraine.
We are glad to announce that our team has conducted its first expedition to compile a database of the wine route. We started our trip from the Odessa region, where the largest Wineries in Ukraine and local Wineries worthy of attention are located. It was also important to establish contact with the communities of the region, who accepted our offer of cooperation with great pleasure and responsibility. In addition to Wineries, our team visited a number of cultural and leisure facilities, that will be part of the route. Summing up, it can be noted with confidence that the Odessa region has a high potential in the development of new tourist routes.
ONAFT partner attended a conference on the initiation of the Black Sea Region Winemakers’ Association to present the “Sea of Wine” project for winemakers of the Mykolayiv region. The program of the event included a seminar for winemakers in the south of Ukraine “Experience of France in the wine industry”, a friendly tasting competition and consultative visits to family wineries in Mykolayiv region. Also within the framework of the event, ONAFT “Sea of Wine” project team visited the Beykush winery and the Olviya- nuvo winery.
The objective aims is to build strong cooperation among ONAFT and stakeholders and create structures to ensure sustainability of the project outputs after the completion of the Project. The first contact with the involved stakeholders is established.
